2. Security and Hosting
SSL or TLS encryption
For security reasons and to protect the transmission of confidential content, such as orders or inquiries that you send to us as the site operator, this site uses SSL or TLS encryption. You can recognize an encrypted connection by the fact that the address line of the browser changes from "http://" to "https://" and by the lock symbol in your browser line.
Server log files
When using the website for information purposes only (i.e. if you do not register or otherwise transmit information to us), we only collect the data that your browser transmits to our server (so-called "server log files"). This is technically necessary to display our website to you and to guarantee stability and security (legal basis Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. f GDPR):
- Visited website
- Time at the time of access
- Amount of data sent in bytes
- Source/reference from which you came to the page
- Used browser
- Used operating system
- Used IP address (possibly: in anonymized form)
The data is not used to draw conclusions about your person.
3. Cookies & Consent Management
Our website uses cookies. These are small text files that your web browser stores on your device. Cookies help us to make our offer more user-friendly, effective and secure.
We distinguish between two categories:
- Technically necessary cookies: These are mandatory for the website to function (e.g. for shopping cart functions or security settings). They do not require consent.
- Statistics & Marketing Cookies: These help us to understand how visitors interact with the website or serve to display relevant advertising. These cookies are only set with your express consent (cookie banner).
You can change or revoke your consent at any time via our cookie settings on the website. You can also set your browser so that you are informed about the setting of cookies and only allow cookies in individual cases.
4. Contact
If you contact us via the contact form or e-mail, your details (name, e-mail, phone number, content of the request) will be stored by us for the purpose of processing the request and in the event of follow-up questions. We will not pass on this data without your consent. The processing takes place on the basis of Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. b GDPR (implementation of pre-contractual measures) or our legitimate interest in answering your request.
5. Web Analysis and Advertising
Google Analytics
If you have given your consent, Google Analytics 4, a web analysis service provided by Google Ireland Limited, is used on this website. Google Analytics uses cookies that enable an analysis of your use of the website.
With Google Analytics 4, IP address anonymization is activated by default. Due to IP anonymization, your IP address will be shortened by Google within member states of the European Union or in other contracting states of the Agreement on the European Economic Area. The information generated by the cookie is usually transmitted to a Google server in the USA and stored there. The legal basis is your consent in accordance with Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. a GDPR. You can revoke this at any time.
Google Ads (formerly AdWords)
We use the online advertising program "Google Ads" and conversion tracking within this framework. If you click on an ad placed by Google, a cookie is set for conversion tracking. These cookies lose their validity after 30 days and are not used for personal identification. If you visit certain pages of our website and the cookie has not yet expired, Google and we can recognize that you clicked on the ad and were redirected to this page.
Microsoft Clarity
We partner with Microsoft Clarity and Microsoft Advertising to capture how you use and interact with our website through behavioral metrics, heatmaps, and session replays to improve and market our products/services. Website usage data is captured using first and third-party cookies and other tracking technologies to determine the popularity of products/services and online activity. Additionally, we use this information for site optimization, fraud/security purposes, and advertising. For more information about how Microsoft collects and uses your data, visit the Microsoft Privacy Statement.
PostHog
If you have given your consent, we use PostHog, a product analytics service provided by PostHog Inc. (USA). PostHog helps us understand how visitors use our website by capturing page views and interactions (e.g. clicks). For this purpose, PostHog uses cookies and similar technologies.
We have configured PostHog to be data-minimizing: no personal user profiles are created for anonymous visitors. The data collected is processed on PostHog servers in the USA. The legal basis is your consent in accordance with Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. a GDPR, which you can revoke at any time via the cookie settings. Further information can be found in PostHog's privacy policy at https://posthog.com/privacy.
6. Integration of Third-Party Services
Google Maps
We integrate maps from the "Google Maps" service provided by Google on our website. The data processed may include, in particular, IP addresses and location data of users, which, however, are not collected without their consent (usually in the context of the settings of their mobile devices).
Social Media (Facebook & Instagram)
We maintain online presences within social networks (Facebook, Instagram) in order to be able to communicate with customers, interested parties and users active there. We do not use any direct "social plugins" on our website that transmit data to Facebook/Instagram without being asked. Instead, we use links. Data is only transferred to the social networks if you actively click on the corresponding buttons and are redirected to the respective platform. The data protection regulations of the respective platforms apply (Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd.).
YouTube
We integrate videos from the "YouTube" platform provided by Google. When you call up a page that contains an embedded video, a connection to Google's servers is established. This tells the server which of our pages you have visited. If you are logged into your YouTube account, you enable YouTube to assign your surfing behavior directly to your personal profile. You can prevent this by logging out of your YouTube account. We use the "advanced data protection mode" where possible.
7. Storage Duration
We only store personal data for as long as is necessary to achieve the respective purpose or as required by statutory retention periods (e.g. 7 years retention requirement for tax-relevant documents in Austria). After the period has expired, the data is routinely deleted.
8. Your Rights as a Data Subject
You have the following rights under the GDPR:
- Right of access (Art. 15 GDPR): You can request information about your personal data processed by us.
- Right to rectification (Art. 16 GDPR): You can request the correction of incorrect or completion of your data stored by us.
- Right to erasure (Art. 17 GDPR): You can request the deletion of your data stored by us ("right to be forgotten"), unless processing is necessary to fulfill a legal obligation.
- Right to restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR).
- Right to data portability (Art. 20 GDPR).
- Right to object (Art. 21 GDPR): If your data is processed on the basis of legitimate interests, you have the right to object to the processing.
If you would like to exercise your rights, simply send an e-mail to: hotel@schwarz.at
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Austrian Data Protection Authority (Barichgasse 40-42, 1030 Vienna).
