Deeply Rooted
A story since 1694.
From a documented main house to Restaurant 141 by Joachim Jaud — three centuries and one house on the Mieming Plateau.

Fourteen stations. Three centuries.
Wedding photo of Franz and Agnes Pirktl
The main house with its historic foundation walls was first mentioned in a document in 1694. At the end of the 19th century, it came into the possession of the two sisters Beatrix and Serafine Schwarz and through inheritance it went to their nephew Franz, who together with his wife Agnes welcomed regular summer visitors as early as the 1940s. The two began renting out eight rooms to their guests – Agnes took care of the culinary well-being in the kitchen, while Franz worked in service.

Cornerstone for the Alpenresort Schwarz
By obtaining the hotel and restaurant license in the mid-1950s, the cornerstone for the Alpenresort Schwarz was laid. Since the 1950s, house number 141 on the Mieming Plateau has been the epitome of hospitality and cuisine.

Expansion to 30 beds and generational change
With the construction of a new dining room, the house was expanded to 30 beds – Franz Pirktl Senior rolled up his sleeves and mixed the concrete for the construction himself. In 1963, after the death of his father, he finally took over the hotel and agriculture at the age of only 17, thus laying the foundation for the further development of the business.

Wedding and expansion to 50 beds
The picture you see here is from 1974. Only one year earlier, in 1973, Franz married his wife Martha – and it was also a significant year for the inn: it was extensively expanded and from then on offered space for 50 beds. An important milestone in the history of the house.

Enlargement of the dining room
The picture you see here is from 1976. Two years later, in 1978, the dining room in the house Obermieming 141 was enlarged once again.

The first Obstgartl is built
The photo is from 1982. One year earlier, in 1981, the first of a total of three buildings named 'Obstgartl' was built – an expansion that now gave the house 60 rooms. The building owes its name to the fruit trees that still surround it picturesquely today.

Obstgartl 2 and opening of the golf course
The photo is from 2002. In 1994, another milestone was set with the construction of 'Obstgartl 2' and the house was expanded to 90 rooms. In 2001, the opening of the golf course followed – a new chapter in the history of the business.

Obstgartl 3 and 120 rooms
The photo is from 2004. One year earlier, in 2003, the third building in this series was built with 'Obstgartl 3' and the house was expanded to a proud 120 rooms.

Renovation of the main house and new Genusswelt
The photo is from 2019. In 2018, the main house was extensively renovated – the new building was carefully built on the historic foundation walls of the old building, whereby the original facade was preserved. In the same year, the Genusswelt, the hotel's restaurant, was also built. In 2021, the construction of the west wing followed, which found its place behind the Genusswelt. But despite all these changes over the years, the dining room of the main house Obermieming 141 remained unchanged.

Renovation of the historic dining room
In February 2024, the old dining room of the main house was renovated. The picture shows Joachim Jaud standing in the middle of the shell – where guests were once served and a new chapter was soon to begin.

Opening of Restaurant 141
In April 2024, Restaurant 141 by Joachim Jaud opened – exactly where the old dining room of the main house once stood and generations of guests were served. Since then, guests have been spoiled with the finest cuisine at this historic location.
